From Ybbs-Persenbeug via Maria Taferl to Pöchlarn

auf der Hagsdorfer Scheibe

On the left bank of the Danube, one drives from Persenbeug over the flat peninsula "Hagsdorfer Scheibe". Here in the picture you can see that we are not quite lonely on the way

After crossing the Hagsdorfer Scheibe, we return to the Danube and soon Maria Taferl appears on the horizon.

Am Donauradweg vor Maria Taferl

At the photo we (Gerhard and Stefan) stand because of the sun against the driving direction

View back to Ybbs

On the right bank of the Danube, one drives out of Ybbs with some effort and soon around this angular curve. In the background one sees the church of Ybbs.

Marbach and Maria Taferl

On the other river side you see Marbach and Maria Taferl high above the Danube. If you still want to go up there, you can take a ferry across the Danube.

By bike, the way up is quite exhausting, but one is rewarded with a beautiful view. Chauffeuse Vreni saved us the trouble.
