Blankenheim has a historic town centre with a number of remarkable sights. The most famous is the spring of the Ahr, which is contained in a vaulted cellar of a half-timbered house dating from 1726. Otherwise you will find old town gates, a late Gothic parish church and many half-timbered buildings in romantic corners and alleys. Two of these rustic houses are home to the Eifel Museum Blankenheim.
The Count's castle of Blankenheim, which today houses a youth hostel, towers above the town centre. From here you have a wonderful view over the old town.
