On the small cruise ship MS Royal Star we felt almost like on a large private yacht. With its 120 metres in length and 5000 gross register tonnes, the ship was ideally suited to call at the remote, small ports that large cruise ships can't even get to. 130 crew members looked after a maximum of 230 guests. In summer 2012, the ship was decommissioned and scrapped in Alang (India).

MS Royal Star

We always had a delicious meal at the Belvedere Restaurant and shook a leg at the Marco Polo Lounge.

Move your mouse to the yellow markers; over the Marco Polo Lounge, look for our table in the Belvedere Restaurant, look at the Lido Deck.

Before the first departure, the captain prepared us for big waves due to strong trade winds and recommended to get pills at the reception. When it was rocking so nicely, I thought it was going to be a lot worse, but that was it. The effect was that there was no queue at all at the buffet!
