After a leisurely coffee and croissant stop at Kronplatz in the middle of Burgdorf's old town, we hike (group of 15 persons from the UBS Berg & Ski club) through Schmiedengasse out of town.
It's Saturday and market day.
The path leads via Steinhof station past this beautiful Bernese house (late Biedermeier building, former Freischütz inn).
Soon it's uphill, we climb a hill and we are in the green. And it is a rich vibrant green that surrounds us.
We cross the Pleer woood ...
... and come to the hamlet of Gansern.
Here the path leads through a wet meadow.
Ascent to Schupposen. It goes along the road for a short distance.
The small village of Zimmerberg at 714m above sea level surprises with well-kept farmhouses.
Shortly after Zimmerberg we find an ideal place for the lunch break.
The trail leads uphill and downhill, mostly through beautiful forests (Eybergwald).
Shortly before Krauchtal, the steep descent begins. At the hamlet of Bonziloch we stop briefly under the blossoming apple trees for a photo.
View of Krauchtal
A lot of wood in front of the house in the Krau Valley
There are striking sandstone rocks around Krauchtal. There is also a quarry nearby.
We pass Thorberg at a respectful distance. After all, the former monastery is now a prison.
It goes uphill to 853 m.
A forest hut invites you to linger. But we move on.
Soon we are granted a view of the Alps.
The foothills of the city of Bern are also already visible.
Now we hike on asphalt again, but with a magnificent view.
A very steep descent over stairs brings us to Utzingen.
The castle Utzingen is today a nursing home.
Via a gentle, slightly downhill meadow path we strive towards the village of Boll.
On a house wall at the Weier farm we read the pilgrimage sign "silence“.
There is not much time for silence, because Boll in the Lindental is already reached and a restaurant for the stage beer is also found.
